abstract The invention comprises amine derivatives of 1,5-diazacyclooctane of formula <FORM:0995747/C2/1> where n is from 2 to 12, and their acid addition salts. The compounds are prepared by reducing a compound of formula <FORM:0995747/C2/2> where Z is a nitrile or carbamyl radical. The compounds of formula IV are prepared by reacting a 1,5-diazabicyclo-(3,3,1)-nonaneonium derivative of formula <FORM:0995747/C2/3> where Hal is chlorine, bromine or iodine, with an alkali metal cyanide. The compound III may be produced by condensing 1,5-diazabicyclo-(3,3,1)-nonane with a compound of formula Hal-(CH2)n- 1-Z The 1,5-diazabicyclo-(3,3,1)-nonane may be obtained by reacting 1,5-diazacyclooctane with formaldehyde. Examples are given.
