titleOfInvention New phosphorus-containing esters
abstract The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:0991154/C2/1> where R and R1 represent hydrogen or C1- 4 alkyl, R11 and R111 represent C1- 4 alkyl or C1- 4 alkoxy, and X is oxygen or sulphur. They are prepared by reacting an appropriate O,O-dialkyl (thio) phosphite, O-alkyl alkyl (thio) phosphonite or dialkyl (thio) phosphinous acid with an appropriate 2-carbamoylphenylsulphenic acid halide or with a 2-haloformylphenylsulphenic acid halide followed by reaction with ammonia or an appropriate amine RR1NH. The sulphenic acid starting materials may be obtained by splitting the corresponding bis - (2 - carbamoyl - or 2 - haloformyl - phenyl) disulphides with a halogenating agent such as halogen or sulphuryl chloride; the products need not be isolated and in examples are in fact react directly with the phosphorus-containing reactants. The compounds of the invention are insecticides (see Division A5).ALSO:Insecticidal compositions comprise, together with a solid or liquid carrier, a phosphorus-containing carboxyamide of formula <FORM:0991154/A5-A6/1> where R and R1 represent hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, R11 and R111 represent C1-4 alkyl or C1-4 alkyl or C1-4 alkoxy and X is oxygen or sulphur (for preparation see Division C2). Other insecticides and/or fertilizers may be present.
