abstract |
The formation of popcorn polymers from olefinic monomers is inhibited by the addition of a N,N1-dialkyl hydroxylamine in which each alkyl group contains up to five carbon atoms. Preferably 0.001-5% by wt. of inhibitor is added to the olefin. The inhibitor is particularly valuable in the recovery of monomers from a butadiene or butadiene-styrene latex by flash evaporation, distillation or steam stripping.ALSO:The formation of popcorn polymers from olefinic monomers is inhibited by the addition of a N,N-dialkyl hydroxylamine in which each alkyl group contains up to five carbon atoms.
