titleOfInvention Improvements in or relating to organosilicon compositions
abstract A composition for treating leather (see Division D1) comprises, by weight (1) from 10 to 75% of an organopolysiloxane isocyanate described and claimed in Specification 971,682, and (2) from 25 to 90% of a triorganosilyl end-blocked diorganopolysiloxane having a viscosity of from 50 to 10,000 cs. at 25 DEG C., wherein the radicals are monovalent aliphatic, cyclo-aliphatic, haloaliphatic or cyanoalkyl radicals. The composition, which is preferably dissolved in an inert solvent, cures an exposure to moisture. Examples are given. Specifications 706,719, 736,378 and 773,347 also are referred to.ALSO:Leather, i.e. any tanned or tawed animal hide such as steer, calf, pig or kid, is rendered both water-repellent and scuff resistant by applying thereto, as by dipping, spraying or roller coating, a composition comprising, by weight, (1) from 10 to 75% of an organo-polysiloxane isocyanate described and claimed in Specification 971,682, and (2) from 25 to 90% of a triorganosilyl end-blocked diorganopolysiloxane having a viscosity of from 50 to 10,000 cs. at 25 DEG C., wherein the radicals are monovalent aliphatic, halo-aliphatic or cyanoalkyl radicals (see Division C3), and curing the composition thereon. The composition is preferably dissolved in an inert solvent. The coating, which cures on exposure to moisture, preferably at ambient temperature, is applied prior to finishing of the leather. Examples are given. Specifications 706,719, 736,378 and 773,347 also are referred to.
