titleOfInvention | Compositions for controlling plant-parasitic nematodes |
abstract | Compounds of the formula: <FORM:0963065/C1/1> where R is H, halogen, methyl or nitro and R1 is methyl or ethyl are prepared by reacting the salts of the particular monoalkyl-dithiocarbamic acids with benzyl halides or the correspondingly substituted benzyl halides. Specified compounds are the benzyl, 4-methylbenzyl, 4-chlorobenzyl, 4-nitrobenzyl and 2-nitrobenzyl of N-methyl dithiocarbamic acid and the benzyl ester of N-ethyldithiocarbamic acid.ALSO:A nematocidal composition comprises as active ingredient <FORM:0963065/A5-A6/1> wherein R represents hydrogen, a halogen atom, a methyl or nitro group and R1 represents the methyl or ethyl group and a carrier and/or distributing agent selected from an inert pulverulent solid, an emulsifying agent optionally in conjunction with water and/or an organic solvent, water in conjunction with a pulverulent solid and an emulsifying agent, a halogenated-hydrocarbon boiling below 200 DEG C. and having by itself a nematocidal action, e.g. 1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane, dichlorobutene, dichloropropane and dichloropropene, a fertilizer, a fungicide, an insecticide and an additional nematocide. Soil may be treated with the active ingredient alone. The compositions may be in the form of emulsions, suspensions, dusts, wettable powders, solutions or granules. Cationic, anionic and nonionic emulsifying agents are specified. A specified adjuvant is citric acid. |
