titleOfInvention Plasticised compositions
abstract Vinyl chloride polymers are plasticized by hydroxypolyesters of sebacic acid and 1,4-butane-diol or 1,6-hexanediol which polyesters are solid at ambient temperatures and have mean molecular weights over 20,000. Other plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, lubricants and dyestuffs may also be incorporated, and the compositions used for making petrol hoses, packaging tubes and films, and laminates. Examples describe the compounding of compositions comprising polyvinyl chloride, barium and cadmium stearates, trinonylphenyl phosphite and stearic acid and (1) hydroxypoly 1,6-hexane diol sebacate of molecular weight 30,000 to 35,000; (2) hydroxypoly 1,4-butanediol sebacate of molecular weight 30,000; and (3) hydroxypoly 1,6-hexanediol sebacate of molecular weight 80,000.
