titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to flexible permanent magnet material |
abstract | 950,277. Laminates. DARWINS Ltd. Dec. 1, 1960 [Dec. 2, 1959], No. 40870/59. Drawings to Specification. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B8, E2 and H1] A sheet of flexible plastic material in which powdered permanent magnet material of high coercive force has been compounded, and which is magnetized perpendicularly to its surfaces, is superimposed on and bonded to a sheet of plastic material in which has been compounded powdered material of relatively high magnetic permeability, e.g. iron powder, to form a composite flexible magnetic sheet. The plastic material may be rubber, synthetic rubber, polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride. The magnet material may be barium ferrite. The first sheet may be magnetized in bands or regions of alternate polarity. A compound sheet may comprise two such sheets on opposite sides of a sheet of the plastic material containing powdered material of high magnetic permeability. Alternatively, the first sheet may be of single polarity over the whole of one surface and of opposite polarity over the other. In this case, sheets of the two types may be alternated, with the surface polarities of alternate sheets of the first type reversed. Specifications 950,273, 950,274 and 950,278 are referred to. |
