titleOfInvention New textile resist printing process
abstract A process for resist-colouration of cellulose textile fabrics comprises applying locally to one surface of the fabric a thickened printing paste which contains (a) a nitrogenous resin precondensate, (b) a curing agent and either (c) a reactive dyestuff or (d) a dyestuff which contains one or more isothiouronium salt groups attached to the nucleus through a methylene group thereafter heating to cure the resin and thereafter applying to the same surface of the fabric by, for example, "nip-padding" an oxidation, vat, solubilised vat, "onium" or preferably an azoic dyestuff. Alternatively more than one coloured or white resist may be applied. Many precondensates (a) are specified including dimethylol-melamine and 1, 3-dimethylol-4, 5-dihydroxy-2-imidazolidone; also specified are many curing agents (b) including ammonium nitrate and diethanolamine hydrochloride. Normal thickening agents may be used preferably carragheen moss extract and other usual additives may be included. The reactive dye (c) may be of the anthraquinone, nitro, phthalocyanine or azo series, the preferred reactive group being the dichloro-s-triazine group. Suitable onium dyes (d) are described in Specifications 576,270, 587,634 and 613,980. According to the type of dye used for the ground shade superior resists may be obtained by adding citric, tataric or glutaric acids or a mixture of acetic acid and sodium acetate to the resist paste. Examples of resist-colouration are given. Specifications 209,723, 781,930, 785,120, 785,222, 826,405, 826,689, 838,311, 838,335, 850,599, 859,989 and 939,243 also are referred to.
