abstract A shaped and solid animal-feeding composition, e.g. a "lick,' comprises a solid, substantially homogeneous admixture of glucose or other crystallizable sugar in amount of at least 75% by weight, and 2 to 15% by weight of one or more growth factors, i.e. growth-promoting substances such as anti-biotics, distillers' solubles, corn steep liquor or yeast and related nutritional substances. The composition may additionally include, as described in Specifications 938,921 and 945,981, a solution p inhibitor e.g. 2.5 to 10% by weight of calcium carbonate, based on the total weight of the composition, with or without 0.5 to 5% by weight of at least one other non-toxic water soluble substance capable of forming a highly viscous solution in water such as gums, alginates, and/or pectin compounds. One or more numeral additives, e.g. compounds of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, and chlorine and significant amounts of iron compounds, and/or trace elements, e.g. manganese, copper, cobalt, and iodine may also be included in the composition as described in Specification 945,984.
