abstract | 2-Hydroxy-3-methyl-benzene-1-carboxamide is prepared by reacting 2-hydroxy-3-methyl-benzoir acid with methanol to give methyl 2-hydroxy-3-methyl-benzoate and then reacting this with ammonia. An example is given.ALSO:An anti-inflammatory and anti-pyretic composition comprises promethazine (10-(2-dimemethylaminopropyl) - phenothiazine hydrochloride) and 2-hydroxy-3-methyl-benzene-1-carboxamide. The ratio of promethazine to the carboxamide is preferably 1 to 100 by weight. Capsules and cachets are referred to. |
