abstract The invention comprises bis-(b -carbhydrazido-ethyl)-sulphone of the formula H2N-NHCOCH2CH2SO2CH2CH2 CONHNH2 the preparation thereof by reacting bis-(b -carboxyethyl)sulphone or a functional derivative thereof with hydrazine or a hydrazine-forming compound, and pharmaceutical compositions in the form of an aqueous solution of the compound especially in the form of an injection solution. These compositions are useful for the treatment of schistosomiasis.
