titleOfInvention | Process for stabilizing organodistannoxanes |
abstract | Organodistannoxanes (particularly bis(trialkyl)tin) oxides and especially bis(tributyltin)oxide) may be stabilised against deterioration against ultra-violet light by addition of an organic carboxylic acid and heating. The amount of acid used is preferably from 0,1 to 3,0% of the weight of the distannoxane. Acids specified include acetic, propionic, butyric, lauric, 2-ethyl hexoic, isoascorbic, lactic, chloracetic, gluconic, malonic, succinic, and citric acids. The mixture may be heated to 100 DEG to 140 DEG C. for 15-30 minutes. |
