The invention comprises manganese isopropylene-bis-dithiocarbamic acid which is used in fungicidal compositions. It is prepared by reacting 1,2-propylene-diamine with carbon disulphide, in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide or ammonium hydroxide, and treatment of the resulting solution with salts of manganese. It may also be prepared by heating propylene dichloride with ammonium hydroxide, treating with sodium hydroxide and carbon disulphide, followed by addition of a manganese salt solution. U.S.A. Specification 2,317,765 is referred to.ALSO:A fungicidal composition contains the manganese salt of isopropylene-bis-dithiocarbamic acid and a solid or liquid extender or diluent. There may also be present an emulsifier and/or a wetting agent. The manganese salt is preferably used in aqueous dilution, together with non-ionic emulsifiers and/or wetting agents. Concentrations of 0.025% and 0.0062% are shown to be active in examples. The composition may also contain other fungicides and/or insecticides. U.S.A. Specification 2,317,765 is referred to. |
