titleOfInvention | Foot and mouth disease implantation preparations |
abstract | A solid implantation body for immunization against foot and mouth disease is prepared by compressing a foot and mouth disease vaccine in powder form with a resorbable vehicle, which when compressed is capable of intimately bonding the particles of the vaccine, to form the implantation body and the implantation body is preferably given an incomplete coating of a resorption retarder. Compression may be at 50 to 1000 kg./cm.2 and the retarder, e.g. a synthetic resin, may be applied by spraying. The body may be oblong and may have retarder-free areas at one or both of its ends. Specified resorbable vehicles are cholesterol, stearic acid, zinc oxide or mixtures thereof. |
