Polyethylene is light stabilized with a nickel phenol-phenolate of a pure bis(p-octylphenol) monosulphide, in particular of crystalline o,o1-bis(p-1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutylphenol) monosulphide. The examples illustrate the effect on films of linear and branched-chain polyethylene, e.g. the per cent elongation before and after exposure to ultra-violet light. Specifications 471,590 and 898,890 are referred to. |
