titleOfInvention Improved fuel substantially free of vanadium
abstract A vanadium-free fuel for gas turbines operated at temperatures above 650 DEG C. and highly superheated boilers comprises a blend of solvent extracts obtained by treating different lubricant distillate fractions from crude oil with a solvent which selectively removes the aromatic and naphthenic constituents. The solvent may be furfural, phenol, or a sulphur dioxide-benzene mixture. The lubricant distillate fractions may be a light oil and a medium oil fraction which may be from the same base oil, for example a residue from atmospheric distillation of crude oil. A diesel oil or other petroleum distillate may be added to the composition. Specification 907,784 is referred to.
