titleOfInvention | Organic sulphur halogen compounds |
abstract | Compounds of the formula HC(SF5):CClR, where R is hydrogen or alkyl, are prepared by subjecting a mixture of an acetylene HC:CR and SClF5 to the action of ultra-violet radiation, or to the action of heat in the presence if desired of a free-radical-producing catalyst, and if desired to the action of elevated pressure. In examples, (1) and (2) propyne reacts to give CH3CCl:CHSF5, which with solid KOH or KOH in petrol ether is dehydro chlorinated to CH3C:CSF5; (3) acetylene reacts to give CHCl:CHSF5. The Provisional Specification refers to compounds R1C(SF5):CClR11, where R1 and R11 are hydrogen, alkyl or aryl. Specifications 891,552 and 905,006 are referred to. |
