titleOfInvention Process and catalysts for the polymerisation of dienes
abstract Conjugated dienes are polymerized in a hydrocarbon medium in presence of a catalyst composition formed by mixing a nickel and/or cobalt halide with a Friedel-Crafts metal halide in presence of a hydrocarbon diluent. The Friedel-Crafts halide is preferably of Al or Zn, halides of FeIII, Sn;IV and Ti;IV being also mentioned; in examples AlCl3, AlBr3, TiCl4 and ZnCl2 are specified. The catalyst may be aged before use, if desired. Specifications 824,418 and 906,055 are referred to.ALSO:Conjugated dienes are polymerized in a hydrocarbon medium in presence of a catalyst composition formed by mixing a nickel and/or cobalt halide with a Friedel-Crafts metal halide in presence of a hydrocarbon diluent.
