titleOfInvention Phosphorothioic esters and process for obtaining them
abstract The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0898910/IV (b)/1> where R1 and R11 are alkyl radicals having 1-5 carbon atoms and which may be the same or different, R1 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1-5 carbon atoms, Y is a straight or branched chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 1-5 carbon atoms, and X is oxygen or sulphur. These compounds are prepared by reacting an alkali metal or ammonium dialkylthio-or dialkyldithio-phosphate with a compound HalCH2CON(R1)YCN, where Hal is Cl, Br or I. In examples, R1 and R11 are variously methyl or ethyl; R1 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl; and Y is -CH2-, -CH2CH2- or -(CCH3)2-. The compounds of the invention are pesticides (see Group VI).ALSO:The invention comprises pesticidal compositions containing at least one compound of the formula <FORM:0898910/VI/1> where R1 and R11 are alkyl radicals containing 1-5 carbon atoms, X is oxygen or sulphur, R1 is hydrogen or alkyl containing 1-5 carbon atoms, and Y is a straight or branched chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 1-5 carbon atoms (see Group IV (b)). These compounds are preferably in admixture with one or more known disinfectant compounds and/or an inert carrier or fertilizer compound; wetting, adhesive, dispersing or emulsifying agents may also be present. Specified insecticidal additives are phosphoric esters, DDT and gammahexane. Examples use aqueous dispersions of the active compounds.
