titleOfInvention | Process for drying monomeric gaseous formaldehyde |
abstract | 896,045. Drying gases. DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT VORM. ROESSLER. Jan. 5, 1960 [Jan. 7, 1959], No. 367/60. Class 34(1) A method of drying monomeric gaseous formaldehyde with simultaneous recovery of the oligomers formed during the drying comprises treating the gas with aluminium silicate gel, which gel is kept in motion during the treatment by mechanical or pneumatic means. The particles of gel both adsorb moisture from the gas and form a small proportion of aligomeric formaldehyde on their surfaces which is removed during the moving process. Pure aluminium silicate is used which contains a relatively high proportion of silicic acid and the gel may be either finely divided and kept in motion by pneumatic means, as in a fluidized bed, or the gel may be coarsely divided and kept in motion by mechanical action as by screening, shaking or vibrating. |
