titleOfInvention Growth stimulating animal feed composition
abstract A growth-stimulating animal feed composition includes at least one non-toxic sapogenin e.g. smilagenin, preferably together with an estrogenic substance, such as diethylstilbestrol. Proportions within the range 0,1g. to 10g. sapogenin per short ton of feed are suitable. Other sapogenins mentioned are diosgenin, sarsasapogenin, episarsasapogenin, tigogenin, neatigogenin, nitrogenin, gitagenin, chlorogenin, lilligenin and digitogenin. Many estrogenis substances are disclosed. The feed composition may include also tetracycline antibiotics such as oxytetracycline and tetracycline, and piperazine derivatives such as N-p-chlorobenzhydryl-N-hydroxyethoxyethyl piperazine. Other feed ingredients are disclosed; a feed formulation consisting of cane molasses, ground yellow corn, dehydrated alfalfa meal, bentonite, bone meal and urea is given.
