abstract A pharmaceutical preparation having central nervous system stimulant properties comprises 2-phenoxyethylhydrazine or a therapeutically effective acid addition salt thereof and a pharmaceutically suitable carrier other than potable water, C1 to C6 alkanols and C1 to C6 ketones. Specified salts are of the inorganic acids hydrohalic, sulphuric, phosphoric, nitric and perchloric and of the organic acids formic, acetic, propionic, oxalic, succinic, glycolic, lactic, malic, tartaric, citric, ascorbic, hydroxymaleic, dihydroxymaleic, pyroracemic, phenylacetic, benzoic, p-aminobenzoic, anthranilic, parahydroxy-benzoic, salicyclic, p-aminosalicylic, methanesulphonic, ethane sulphonic, hydroxy-ethanesulphonic, ethylene sulphonic, toluene sulphonic, naphthalene sulphonic and sulphanilic acid. The preparations are used in the form of tablets, dragees, capsules containing the active compound in a liquid carrier, solutions, suspensions or emulsions for enteral or parenteral administration. They may contain preserving, stabilizing, wetting or emulsifying agents and other drugs.
