titleOfInvention Method for the purification of hexamethylenediamine
abstract Polargraphically reducible impurities are removed from hexamethylenediamine by subjecting it to distillation at 85 DEG -200 DEG C under a pressure of 10 mm. of mercury to atmospheric pressure, in the presence of 0,01-1,0%, based on the total weight of hexamethylenediamine in the feed, of potassium hydroxide, low-boiling polargraphically reducible impurities being converted into high-boiling impurities which are collected as residue and the purified hexamethylenediamine being recovered as distillate.
