titleOfInvention Improved nail lacquer removing preparations
abstract A nail varnish remover comprises an organic solvent for lacquer, a lipophilic ingredient, and 0,5 to 5%, calculated on the total weight of the preparation, of a polymer or copolymer either of a monomeric ester of methacrylic or acrylic acid with a lower (1 to 4C) aliphatic alcohol or of a monomeric ester of vinyl alcohol with higher (6 to 18C) fatty acids. The lipophilic ingredients may be, e.g. white petroleum jelly or paraffin wax, polyethylene glycol, vegetable or animal fats or oils, and fatty acid esters such as isopropyl palmitate or myristate. Wetting or dispersing agents, e.g. soaps, fatty acid sulphonates, sulphonated oils, aryl alkyl sulphonates and condensation products of ethylene oxide with higher alcohols, alkyl phenols or mercaptans, and thickening agents such as tragacanth, methyl and ethyl celluloses, sodium alginate and finely divided silicic acid may be included, as well as a small proportion of silicone oil, perfume and dyestuffs.
