titleOfInvention | New hydrazinium compounds, their production and pharmaceutical compositions containing them |
abstract | The invention comprises hydrazinium compounds of the formula <FORM:0880974/IV (b)/1> (wherein R is an alkyl radical of at most 7 carbon atoms and n is the number of cations required to balance the anionic charge on the anion X) and their preparation by reacting chloramine or hydroxylamine-O-sulphonic acid with the appropriate tertiary amine. The anion X can be changed by metathetical processes. N-aminophenindaminium chloride, hexafluor-phosphate and and picrate are described and an extensive list of further anions is provided. Specification 858,488 and U.S.A. Specifications 2,678,258 and 2,710,248 are referred to.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound of the formula <FORM:0880974/VI/1> (wherein R is an alkyl radical of at most 7 carbon atoms and n is the number of cations required to balance the anionic charge on the anion X) and a solid or liquid pharmaceutical carrier. Specified examples of X are chloride, bromide, iodide, sulphate, bisulphate, acetate, salicylate, valerate, oleate, phenate, laurate, borate, benzoate, lactate, nitrate, diglycollate, phosphate, hexafluorophosphate, phenylethylbarbiturate, o-acetoxybenzoate, citrate, dialkylbarbiturate (e.g. diethylbarbiturate), sulphathiazole, theophyllinate, urate, maleate, fumarate, succinate, tartrate, penicillinate, camphorate, salicylamide, diphenylhydantoin, carbonate, cacodylate, aconitate, sulphamate, gentisate, malate and picrate. Specification 858,488 and U.S.A. Specifications 2,678,258 and 2,710,248 are referred to. |
