titleOfInvention | Nitroarylamido-phosphoric acid esters |
abstract | The invention comprises nitroarylamido phosphoric acid chlorides of the general formula <FORM:0873015/IV (b)/1> in which Ar is a phenyl radical which may be substituted by one or more chlorine atoms and/or C1-C4 alkyl radical or C1-C4 alkoxy radical, or a naphthyl radical, R is a C1-C4 alkyl radical or an aryl radical or another Ar(NO2)1-2 group and X is a further chlorine atom, a secondary or tertiary organic amino group or a C1-C4 alkoxy radical or another -N(R)-Ar(NO2)1-2 group. They may be obtained by dissolving a compound of the general formula Ar-N(R)P(O)(X)(Cl) in concentrated nitric acid at a temperature within the range of -10 DEG to 10 DEG C. and precipitating the resulting nitro compound from the reaction mixture by the addition of ice water. Compounds in which R is hydrogen may be obtained similarly by nitration of the corresponding nitro group-free compounds. The products of the first given formula may be treated to reduce the nitro groups to amino groups and these amines may be converted by known methods to isocyanates and the chlorine atoms then or before such conversions may be replaced by ester or amino groups to form intermediates for polyisocyanate or polyurethane type resins. Alternatively, the 1 or 2 free chlorine atoms present may be replaced by ester or amino groups to form compounds having pesticidal properties. |
