titleOfInvention | Agents for the chemical scaling and solidification of earth layers and buildings |
abstract | Agents for sealing and solidifying earth layers or buildings comprise a mixture of water glass and acid forming agents (as defined) characterized by containing 0.1-1% wt., based on the total mixture, of a mono or polybasic alkyl or aryl carboxylic acid, e.g. acetyl chloride, benzoyl chloride and sulphonic acid halides, such as benzene sulphonic acid chloride and toluene sulphonic acid chloride. The alcohol is preferably a normal or isomeric C1-C5 alcohol, e.g. methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol and pentanol as well as ethylene glycol and glycerol and the ester, alcoholate or ketone are preferably those derived from such alcohols. Ketones specified are acetone, methyl ethyl ketone or methyl isopropyl ketone. Earth layers may be dam works and foundations and buildings be brickwork, masonry, concrete and material facings of buildings. |
