abstract The invention comprises N1-glycosides of 5-fluorocytosine and medicinally acceptable acid addition salts thereof; and the preparation thereof by reacting an O-acyl ester of an N1-glycoside of 5-fluoro-uracil with a thiating agent in a basic medium, treating the O-acyl ester of an N1-glycaside of 4-thio-5-fluoruracil so formed with excess ammonia and, if desired, converting the product into an acid addition salt.
