titleOfInvention Novel dibenzocycloheptaenes and salts thereof and a process for the manufacture of same
abstract The invention comprises 5-substituted-dibenzoheptadienes and 5-substituent dibenzocycloheptatrienes having the nucleus <FORM:0858188/IV(b)/1> wherein the broken line represents an optional double bond; the 5-substitutent being an alkyl radical of more than two carbon atoms bearing one or more di-substituted amino groups, e.g. dialkylamino, piperidino, morpholino, or thiamorpholino groups and corresponding compounds bearing one or more nuclear alkyl, alkoxy or halogen substituents and acid addition or quaternary salts thereof. The compounds are prepared by hydrogenating the semi-cyclic double bond of a corresponding 5-aminoalkylidenedibenzocycloheptadi (or tri) ene. Specification 858,187 also is referred to.
