abstract One part of a fluid polyurethane prepolymer is blended with 1-19 parts of a bituminous material. Polyurethanes derived from castor oil; adipic acid-glycol polyesters; dilinoleic acid-glycol polyesters; and polyethers, e.g. polypropylene glycol; are preferred. Plasticizers, in addition to the bitumen, may be present, e.g. polymers derived from styrene and its homologues; coumarone-indene, butadiene-styrene, polybutadiene, acrylonitrile, chlorinated biphenyl and polyphenyl, and also natural rubber latex. Curing agents can be present and include water, glycols, polyols, polyfunctional primary and secondary amines, and di- or polymercaptans.ALSO:A sealing and paving composition comprises a blend of a fluid polyurethane prepolymer and a bituminous material in a weight ratio of 1 prepolymer to 1,19 bituminous material Curing, e.g. water glycols, glycerol, sorbitol, ethylene diamine, mercaptoethanol and dichloro benzidine, and foaming agents e.g. water may be present. Bituminous includes road oils, asphalts, tars and pitches. An aggregate may also be present.
