titleOfInvention Stabilised compositions comprising therapeutic imine derivatives and the preparation thereof
abstract Therapeutic compositions comprise anhydrous polyethylene glycol and a water soluble ethylene imine derivative of general formula: <FORM:0845823/VI/1> wherein n is 2 or 3 and R is trivalent radical of the formula \sY P = O; \sY P = S or <FORM:0845823/VI/2> and where n is 2, the remaining valency of R is by a radical having no substantial deletrious affect on the pharmacological properties and water solubility of the compound, e.g. diethylamine, morpholino, or radicals having the structures <FORM:0845823/VI/3> Specified and preferred derivatives are; N,N1, N11- triethylene thiophosphoramide; N, N1, N11 -triethylene phosphoramide; N, N -diethyl-N,1 N11-diethylenephosphoramide; N, N1 -diethylene -N11 -morpholinothiophosphoramide; 1,3,5, -triethyleneimine- 2,4,6-triazine, 0, 01 -pphenylene- N,N1,N11,N111-tetraethylene tetramide di(thio)phosphate and O, O1-p-phenylene-N, N1, N11, N111-tetraethylene tetramide diphosphate. The compositions preferably contain from 1 to 5% by weight of the ethylene imine derivative which maybe dissolved in the polyethylene glycol with or without the aid of heat and the resulting solutions may be sealed into ampoules or used in the preparation of tablets and ointments. The polyethylene glycol may have a molecular weight of from 200 to 6000 and may be a liquid; e.g. polyethylene glycol 400 or a solid, e.g. "Carbowax 4000".
