abstract | A veterinary anthelmintic composition comprises arecoline or a salt thereof (preferably the hydrobromide) in admixture with 1-methyl-4-benzhydryl-piperazine or a salt thereof (preferably the hydrochloride) the latter being used to prevent vomiting normally induced by the arecoline. A piperazine salt (preferably a soluble salt e.g. the citrate) which is effective in the removal of ascarids may also be present. The compositions may be in the form of a tablet, capsule or aqueous solution and may be admixed with animal foodstuffs. Flavouring agents, preservatives and innocuous dyestuffs may also be present. |
