abstract | A process for the manufacture of tablet granulations comprises mixing the therapeutic agent with an excipient, such as milk sugar, confectioners' sugar or corn starch, and a lubricating agent, such as talc, stearic acid or magnesium stearate, moistening the mixture with a solvent, such as water, acetone, and methyl, ethyl, propyl or isopropyl alcohol, containing a binder, such as sucrose, gelatin, acacia, tragacanth and polyethylene glycol, and forming the resulting mass into granules. Specified therapeutic agents are tripelennamine, methyl phenidylacetate, phenobarbitol, aspirin, reserpine, glutethimide, hydrocortisone and cortisone. |
