titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to the production of glass shapes |
abstract | Arsenic trisulphide glass produced in the manner described in Specification 834,198 is moulded by slumping, the mould surface being covered with aluminium foil. A single piece of the glass is placed in a foil-lined mould and the temperature raised to 310 DEG C. over a period of 20 hours, maintained at 310 DEG C. for 9 hours while the glass softens and assumes the shape of the mould and then reduced at 12.5 DEG C. per hour. The glass is then removed from the mould and the foil peeled off. |
