titleOfInvention | Method of eliminating sulphuretted hydrogen from gaseous mixtures |
abstract | Hydrogen sulphide is removed from coke-oven gas and other gases containing it by scrubbing with a solution of an amino-alcohol, e.g. triethanolamine, or an alkaline salt of an aminoacid, e.g. of amino-acetic acid, containing arsenious oxide, the arsenious oxide being formed in the solution by adding arsenic trisulphide and heating the solution. In an example, 60 gm/l arsenic tri-sulphide were added to a solution containing 250 gm/l tri-ethanolamine. Subsequent scrubbing was effected at 40 DEG C. with a gas/liquid ratio of 500 : 1. Regeneration of the used scrubbing liquid was carried out at 85 DEG C., a stream of gas being passed through the solution. Specifications 786,669 and 833,451 are referred to. |
