abstract | A fly-repellent composition comprises at least one di-n-propyl or di-n-butyl ester of a dicarboxylic acid having 4 carbon atoms in the chain, preferably maleic, fumaric or succinic and a synergist being either piperonyl butoxide, n-octyl sulfoxide of iso-safrole, N-2-ethyl-hexyl imide of endomethylene tetrahydrophthalic acid, butoxypolypropleneglycol or unsaturated fatty acids and their esters. A carrier in the form of an oil which is a solvent for the ester may also be included.
