titleOfInvention An antihistaminic and cell protection serum
abstract An antihistaminic and cell protection serum is prepared by injecting repeatedly a dilute aqueous solution of an inorganic salt of a histamine base, such as histamine dihydrochloride or double phosphate, or of an inorganic salt of a compound other than histamine having an imidazole nucleus, e.g. histidine hydrochloride, to a bay horse which was castrated at 3 years, previously vaccinated against glanders and phlebotomized, preferably over a period of four days at a daily rate of 0.1 mg. of histamine base per 10 kg. animal body weight, and then, at least four days after the last injection, drawing blood and extracting therefrom a serum which is tyndallized. The horse is fed on a nitrogen-rich diet preceding the bloodletting and during the period of the interventions. After the blood-letting the horse is given oxidants such as manganese dioxide, calcium glycerophosphate, ascorbic acid, iron sequioxide.
