titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of a concentrated mixture of surface-active agents |
abstract | Concentrated mixtures of surface-active agents are prepared by a process in which a solution containing (a) 0-35 per cent by weight, preferably 5-30 per cent, based on the total active substances present, of an alkyl-(propylene tetramer) benzene sulphonate; (b) 15-75 per cent, preferably 20-60 per cent, by weight of a sec.-alkyl sulphate containing 8-18 carbon atoms; and (c) 25-85 per cent, preferably 30-70 per cent by weight of an octylphenol polyglycol ether containing 8-10 ethylene oxide groups, is salted out with sodium chloride at such a temperature, generally above 70 DEG C., that the mixture separates into two liquid layers, the upper of which is a pasty mixture at room temperature, easily soluble in water, containing nearly all the active matter. |
