titleOfInvention S-acyl-pantetheins and process for the production thereof
abstract The invention comprises S-acyl pantetheins of the general formula <FORM:0800701/IV (b)/1> wherein acyl represents a fatty acid residue containing 6-18 carbon atoms or a naphthoyl residue, and a process for the production of S-acyl pantetheins which comprises reacting a mixed anhydride of pantothenic acid with an S-acylthioethylamine hydrochloride in the presence of an acid-binding agent, e.g. triethylamine, tri-n-butylamine, sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium carbonate, calcium carbonate and barium carbonate. As mixed acid anhydride with pantothenic acid there may be used a lower alkyl carboxylic acid anhydride, an alkyl carbonic acid anhydride, the azide, the sulphuric acid anhydride or the anhydride of an organic phosphoric acid. Examples employ the mixed anhydride of panthothenic acid with ethyl carbonic acid, isovaleric acid and dialkylphosphorous acid to produce S-benzoyl-pantethein, S-a -naphthoylpantethein, S - b - naphthoyl - pantethein, S - p - bromobenzoyl - pantethein, S - myristoylpantethein, S - palmitoyl - pantethein, S - stearoyl-pantethein, S-caproyl-pantethein and S-lauroyl-pantethein. Starting compounds. S-Acyl-thioethylamine hydrochlorides are obtained by reacting acyl halides with 2-mercaptoethylamine hydrochloride.ALSO:S-Acyl-pantetheins, e.g. S-benzoyl-pantethein, S - a - naphthoyl - pantethein, S - b - naphthoyl - pantethein, S - p - bromobenzoyl - pantethein, S-myristoyl-pantethein, S-palmitoyl-pantethein, S-stearoyl-pantethein, S-caproyl-pantethein and S-lauroyl-pantethein, can be made up in pharmaceutical form suitable for administration as tablets, dragees, suppositories and salves.
