titleOfInvention | Improvements in caps and like headwear |
abstract | 794,735. Attaching linings in headwear. CHAYTOW; M. June 18, 1956 [April 5, 1955], No. 9875/55. Class 63 A lining for a cap comprises a strip 7 Fig. 2, gathered along one edge to the edge of a circular central portion 8, to the cap-ward side of which is applied a potentially-adhesive substance, e.g. cellulose-acetate, so that when the lining is in position in the cao as shown in Fig. 3, and heat is applied, the lining adheres to the cap material. Alternatively the adhesive may be applied to the cap material itself, or to an intermediate layer e.g. of buckram or canvas, attached to the cap-ward side of the portion 8. An adhesive substance may be used which requires for adhesion a higher temperature than that used in the ironing or steaming process. |
