abstract A therapeutic composition comprises oxytetracycline, tetracycline, chlortetracycline or the 5a,6-anhydro-, or 4-desdimethylamino derivatives of the said antibiotics, together with at least two water-soluble vitamins not all in the same group or class and being selected from ascorbic acid, a salt of ascorbic acid, e.g. sodium or calcium salt; thiamin, e.g. hydrochloride or mononitrate; riboflavin; niacin or niacinamide; pyridoxine, e.g. pantothenic acid, e.g. calcium salt; folic acid; Vitamin K natural or synthetic; and Vitamin B12. The preparations may be put up in the form of capsules, tablets and suspensions for oral use. Examples relate to (a) a suspension containing tetracycline, ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate, thiamin hydrochloride, niacinamide, pyridoxine, calcium pantothenate, folic acid, Vitamin K, Vitamin B12, together with sweetness, flavours (mono-sodium glutamate) and suspending agents; (b) capsules containing tetracycline, sodium ascorbate, essential oils, Vitamin K, folic acid, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, Vitamin B12, calcium pantothenate, lecithin and nicotinamide in a corn oil edible wax base; (c) capsules as in (b) containing oxytetracycline; (d) a powder containing oxytetracycline, Vitamin A acetate, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, ascorbic acid, Vitamin D, niacinamide, dibasic calcium phosphate and ferric phosphate in a chocolate base; (e) oxytetracycline, Vitamin A, thiamin hydrochloride, riboflavin, niacinamide, ascorbic acid, pantothenyl alcohol, pyridoxine, Vitamin E, Vitamin B12 in a candy base; (f) as in (e) containing tetracycline; (g) as in (e) containing chlortetracycline.
