titleOfInvention Antituberculosis compositions
abstract Anti-tuberculosis compositions comprise as active ingredient one or more compounds of formula RCOSEt, wherein R stands for methyl, -SEt, -CH2COSEt or for the group <FORM:0784226/VI/1> together with an injectable pharmaceutical carrier or diluent. Specified diluents include vegetable oils such as arachis oil, sesame oil, almond oil, olive oil, persic oil, coconut oil, soya bean oil and cocoa butter. These compositions may contain additionally beeswax and aluminium stearate. Parenteral aqueous media may also be used: these media may contain stabilisers such as sorbitan monopalmitate and its condensation products with ethylene oxide, and the ethylene oxide condensation products with cetyl alcohol and p-octyl-phenol. In the examples the following are used as active ingredients in injectable compositions: ethyl thiolacetate, diethyl dithiolphthalate, diethyl dithiol-malonate and diethyl dithiolcarbonate.
