abstract | Vat dyes are made by acylating 1.5 - diamino - 4.8 - dihydroxyanthraquinone with a mixture of two isomeric chlorbenzoic acids or chlorides thereof, in a molar ratio of from 0.75 : 1.25 to 1.25 : 0.75 or preferably equimolecular proportions. Examples describe the use of a mixture of the m - and p - isomers, and of the o - and p - isomers, using roughly two mols of the mixture for each mol of 1.5 - diamino - 4.8-dihydroxyanthraquinone. |
