Class 19 A toothbrush comprises a galvanic couple for applying an electric current, the wire threads 13 which constitute the less electropositive metal of the couple extending among the tufts of bristles 12, the other metal forming the conducting part of the handle 14. The electric circuit is completed through the body of the user. The wire threads may be of silver and the conducting part of the handle of magnesium-plated aluminium. A battery may be housed within the handle. The brush may be used to apply a tooth-paste which dissociates to liberate an anti-carietic substance. |
