abstract A corrosion-resistant alloy consists of: Mo 0.1-5 per cent; Si 0.1-5 per cent; U and impurities, the balance. The alloy is preferably prepared by melting the constituents out of contact with air in a thoria crucible at 1150-1400 DEG C. and may be annealed, e.g. by heating to 500-600 DEG C. for 8 hours or 700-800 DEG C. for 4 hours and quenching or slow cooling. Specification 766,060 is referred to.
