titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to methods of making laminations for use in ferromagnetic cores |
abstract | 763,164. Powder metallurgy. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 20, 1954 [Dec. 21, 1953], No. 36754/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXXV] Laminations for the magnetic core of a transformer having the shape described in Specification 753,651 are made by moulding iron powder at high pressure (e.g. 5-10 tons/sq. cm.) and sintering until the maximum permeability is at least 500 (e.g. at 1150‹ C. for ¢ hour). The density of the material may be raised by repeating the moulding and sintering. Zinc stearate may be added as a lubricant during moulding. |
