titleOfInvention | A process of dry-cleaning |
abstract | A dry-cleaning composition for textiles &c. comprises a usual dry-cleaning solvent mixed with a quaternary ammonium compound of high molecular weight containing a glycol or polyglycol radical. The compounds specified comprise the condensation products from oleylamine, stearylamine or octadecylamine and ethylene oxide alkylated with dimethyl sulphate, and the reaction products of the amide from oleic acid and ethylene diamine with ethylene oxide alkylated with dimethyl sulphate. The solvent may be carbon tetrachloride, trichlorethylene, perchlorethylene or gasolene. The quaternary ammonium compound is preferably in a quantity of 0.01 to 0.1 per cent in the solvent. The compositions have a high cleaning power for both cellulose fibres and wool. The quaternary ammonium compounds may be used with other cationic or with anionic or non-ionic agents. |
