| abstract | A paste for removing stains from textile fabrics or the hands comprises (1) a detergent, (2) a solvent for grease, (3) sodium bisulphite and (4) an acid capable of reacting with sodium bisulphite in the presence of water to liberate sulphur dioxide. The detergent may be a sulphated fatty alcohol, the grease solvent may be a mixture of white spirit, distilled pine oil and trichlorethylene, and the acid may be tartaric acid. The composition may be filled into tubes. An example is given. |
