abstract A dermatological composition comprises 5 to 15 per cent(by weight) of a polysiloxane having from 2 to 3 hydrocarbon radicals, e.g. methyl, ethyl, propyl, octadecyl, lauryl, and phenyl radicals, per silicon atom, 5 to 15 per cent of a non-toxic emulsifying agent and 70 to 90 per cent of water. The preferred emulsifying agents are the glycol or glycerol esters of long-chain fatty acids, e.g. glyceryl monostearate which is used in the examples to form aqueous emulsions of dimethylsiloxane. The compositions may contain skin medicaments and/or pigments.
