titleOfInvention Vat dyestuff preparations suitable for textile printing
abstract Improved prints of vat dyestuffs on textile fabrics are obtained by employing a printing paste which contains, in addition to the vat dyestuff, alkali carbonate, formaldehyde-sodium sulphoxylate and a thickener, a condensation product of an aldehyde with a compound containing at least once the grouping <FORM:0731763/IV (c)/1> such as dicyandiamide, dicyandiamidine, guanidine, acetoguanamine, biguanide and melamine. The paste may also contain sodium silicate and water-soluble boron compounds, e.g. borax, boric acid or its zinc or manganese salts. Fabrics of cotton, viscose rayon, acetate rayon, silk and synthetic fibres such as perlon and nylon may be printed.
